Where to Stay:
The Madonna Inn, where we are getting married, is located in the city of San Luis Obispo (known as SLO). In addition to staying at a hotel or home in SLO, there are lots of nearby towns you could find lodging in such as Morro Bay, Pismo Beach, Arroyo Grande, Grover Beach, Oceano, Avila Beach, Los Osos, and Shell Beach.
Here are some recommendations for places to stay:
Madonna Inn | $250-$400/night
100 Madonna Road, San Luis Obispo, CA 93405
This is our wedding venue, so you couldn’t get any closer! Weekend nights are more expensive that weekday nights. We recommend booking directly through their website or calling (805) 543-3000. If you don’t see what you’re looking for, be sure to call because there are some unlisted rooms in our block. There is no discount for adding your room to our block, but we get our wedding night stay for free! Mention our names to be added to our block!
Apple Farm Inn
2015 Monterey Street, San Luis Obispo, CA 93401
This charming hotel has different lodging types and is a 5 minute drive from the Madonna Inn.
Quality Suites
1631 Monterey St., San Luis Obispo, CA, 93401
This affordable hotel comes with a rec from our friends!
There are many other hotels & homes on VRBO to stay in and around San Luis Obispo. Here is a gem we hope someone stays in!
Getting there:
Flying
The closest airport is the SLO County Airport, just a 10 minute drive to the Madonna Inn and downtown SLO. This is a regional airport with connecting flights to SFO, LAX, Denver, Portland, Seattle, Phoenix & Dallas Fort Worth.
SLO is located relatively equidistant between San Francisco and Los Angeles. It’s about a 3hr 30min drive from SF and 4hrs from LA. Getting a direct flight to either SFO or LAX and then renting a car to drive to SLO is another option! If you want to extend your trip a bit, we recommend flying into SFO, driving down the coast on Highway 1 and spending a night in Big Sur or other sweet oceanside towns. If you want to stay in Big Sur, let us know and we may be able to help you get a deal!
Getting around
It’s easy to travel around the city using San Luis Obispo transportation including Lyft, car rentals, bike rentals or even, the iconic trolley to downtown SLO. Be sure to check out Car Free SLO, a local program that provides tools to visitors so they can travel to and around SLO without a car. If you plan on drinking the night of the wedding and not staying at the Madonna Inn, please plan on taking a Lyft or public transportation.
