Where to Stay:

The Madonna Inn, where we are getting married, is located in the city of San Luis Obispo (known as SLO). In addition to staying at a hotel or home in SLO, there are lots of nearby towns you could find lodging in such as Morro Bay, Pismo Beach, Arroyo Grande, Grover Beach, Oceano, Avila Beach, Los Osos, and Shell Beach.

HOTELS:

These are just a few we can recommend, but there’s lots and lots of options nearby!

Madonna Inn| $250-$400/night
100 Madonna Road, San Luis Obispo, CA  93405

This is our wedding venue, so you couldn’t get any closer! Friday and Saturday nights are more expensive than Monday through Thursday nights. We recommend booking directly through their website or calling (805) 543-3000. If you don’t see what you’re looking for, be sure to call because there are some unlisted rooms in our block. There is no discount for adding your room to our block, but we get our wedding night stay for free! Mention our names to be added to our block!

Apple Farm Inn
2015 Monterey Street, San Luis Obispo, CA 93401

This charming hotel has different lodging types and is a 5 minute drive from the Madonna Inn.

Quality Suites
1631 Monterey St., San Luis Obispo, CA, 93401

This more affordable hotel comes with a rec from our friends!

RENTAL HOMES:

🏠 There are lots of great vrbos and rental homes nearby as well, especially for larger groups of 6-10. If you have any questions about location or want to get connected with other folks to share a rental, reach out and we can play matchmaker!

CAMPING:

🏕️ A more affordable option is also camping!

San Luis Obispo County Parks campgrounds all currently have some availability (as of April 20). These require Friday and Saturday booking, but 3 nights at a campground is less than $200. Another option is to camp on Friday and Saturday night when Madonna Inn is more expensive and rent a Madonna Inn room on Sunday when rates are lower and you can stumble from party to bed!

You can search and book SLO County campsites here. The closest is Oceano Pismo Beach Campground (20 min drive to Madonna Inn and 11 min drive to Welcome Party) and the farthest is El Chorro Campground (35 min to Madonna Inn and 45 min to Welcome Party).

There’s also state park campgrounds that are all booked up nearby, though some have availability which are a bit farther away and some available for lottery if you want to try your chances. You can check them out here.

Getting there:

Flying

The closest airport is the SLO County Airport, just a 10 minute drive to the Madonna Inn and downtown SLO. This is a regional airport with connecting flights to SFO, LAX, Denver, Portland, Seattle, Phoenix & Dallas Fort Worth.

SLO is located relatively equidistant between San Francisco and Los Angeles. It’s about a 3hr 30min drive from SF and 4hrs from LA. Getting a direct flight to either SFO or LAX and then renting a car to drive to SLO is another option! If you want to extend your trip a bit, we recommend flying into SFO, driving down the coast on Highway 1 and spending a night in Big Sur or other sweet oceanside towns. If you want to stay in Big Sur, let us know and we may be able to help you get a deal!

Getting around

It’s easy to travel around the city using San Luis Obispo transportation including Lyft, car rentals, bike rentals or even, the iconic trolley to downtown SLO. Be sure to check out Car Free SLO, a local program that provides tools to visitors so they can travel to and around SLO without a car. If you plan on drinking the night of the wedding and not staying at the Madonna Inn, please plan on taking a Lyft or public transportation.
